Cultivate the Skills and Confidence to Become an Effective Clinical Supervisor
Becoming a clinical supervisor is more than meeting a licensing requirement; it's a meaningful transition into a new professional role.
Many clinicians complete supervision training and still find themselves asking:
- What does effective supervision actually look like?
- How do I provide feedback that supports growth without over- or under-correcting?
- How do I address ethical concerns, documentation issues, and clinical risk?
- How do I feel confident taking responsibility for another clinician's development?
The Coastline Supervision of Supervision Program is designed to help bridge the gap between learning about supervision and actually practicing it. Through structured observation, guided participation, co-supervision, and supervised practice, you'll gain real-world experience while developing your own supervisory approach. This program will help you meet WA State requirement of 25 hours of supervised supervision.
Built for Private Practice Clinicians
This program is a strong fit for clinicians who:
- Hold an independent clinical license in Washington
- Are preparing to become approved supervisors
- Have completed or are currently completing supervisor training
- Want hands-on experience
- Value structured feedback and reflective practice
- Plan to supervise clinicians in private practice or independent practice settings
This program is not a good fit for clinicians seeking only a quick sign-off or minimum-hour completion process without active engagement in learning.

As a clinical supervisor, you are responsible for:
- Supporting clinical growth and professional development
- Monitoring ethical decision-making
- Reviewing documentation and risk management practices
- Providing evaluation and performance feedback
- Navigating power dynamics and gatekeeping responsibilities
These responsibilities require skills that extend beyond clinical work alone. Without structured support, many clinicians enter supervision feeling uncertain and underprepared. This program provides an opportunity to develop those skills intentionally and confidently.
If you're ready to move beyond supervision training and begin practicing the supervisor role with support, structure, and real-world experience, we'd love to help you take the next step.
